Under Armour came to Shilo for a series of pieces centered around the 2011 Women’s World Cup. We shot on Super-16 in a nod to the rich history of 60s and 70s vérité docs. This piece focuses on travel, isolation, and the team bond that shared experience fosters.
André Stringer of Shilo and I co-directed this spot for Under Armour that aired around the BCS National Championship. Those of you who were fortunate enough to catch the game got to see the UA-clad Auburn Tigers defeat the Nike-sporting Oregon Ducks. Congrats to Auburn and Under Armour.
The second of the Under Armour Women’s World Cup pieces for Shilo focused on Heather Mitts. Heather was kind enough to open up on a number of subjects that all athletes can relate to: overcoming injuries, relentless hard work, the team’s bond, and the desire to be great.
I made this film with Jeremiah Zagar. It premiered at the 2012 SXSW film festival. A blend of documentary and fiction, REMAINS is about recollection and fading memories. Combining three years of recorded voice messages with macro photography, the film documents a relationship from its inception to its end.
